The relationship between organizational culture and quality culture in business firms: An ampiric study on the manufacturing firms located in Eskişehir

This study focuses on the relationships between the organizational culture and the quality culture in business firms. It aims to determine the relationship between organizational culture as a whole, its sub-dimensions and quality culture and to reveal the aggregate breakdown of the sub-dimensions of organizational culture. The study also targets to reveal the differences in the levels of quality cultures of respective firms by industrial sectors. In this respect, research data were obtained and analyzed through closed and open-ended questions for the employees of the firms registered to Eskişehir Chamber of Industry. Organizational Culture Scale developed by Denison and Mishra and Quality Culture Scale developed by Frankie Wilson were used to measure the organization culture and the quality culture, respectively. The study concludes that there is a positive and strong relationship between the organizational culture as a whole, sub-dimensions of organizational culture and quality culture. In addition, it reveals that there is no statistical difference among firms in terms of sub-dimension averages of organizational culture. Also, it is shown that the levels of quality culture of respective firms differ by industrial sectors. At the end suggestions are provided regarding to the steps to place quality culture within organizations, taking the firms' level of quality culture into consideration.
