Abstract (EN)

Today, in a growing and increasingly global competition environment, companies seek to go one step ahead by minimizing the time needed for the development of a new product. The application of information technologies in industrial design, which is an important phase of the new product development process, provides significant advantages to the companies and designers. This study seeks an answer for the question ?How can one explain the link of industrial design process and information technologies within a triangle of designer, company, and information technologies?" In the reasearch part of the study, improvement of information technologies, industrial design process, and information given about software and hardware that emerged resulting from an interaction between these two for industrial design process have been presented. Therefore, it is aimed to access current and updated information on the subject by the prepared survey. By this survey, the frequency of the usage of these sofware and hardwares provided by information technologies by designers, which of these technologies they have or want to have, and the attitudes of industrial designers and companies towards these technologies and the opportunities they offer have been investigated, elaborately.
