Ahkamu'l-Quran in İsmail Hakkı Bursevi's commentary of Ruhu'l-beyan

In this study, Ruhu'l-bayan fi tafsiri'l-Quran, which was completed in twenty-three years by Ismail Hakkı Bursevi, one of the important Sufi scholars of his time, who was born in Aydos, which is within the borders of Bulgaria, in 1653 and died in Bursa in 1725. We examined the verses of judgment in his work. Ruhu'l-beyan also carries the characteristics of ahkam tafsir because it is a versatile tafsir. Our author has entered the subjects of usul-i fiqh in the interpretation of the verses of the judgment, made some explanations and highlighted the Hanafi method rules such as evidences of the provisions of worship, istinbat, the phenomenon of obligation, the purposes of the judgments, the forms of the indication, ijtihad and imitation. The thesis consists of "introduction", three main parts and "conclusion" part. In the introduction part, we explained the subject, importance, purpose and method of the research. In the first part, besides Bursevi's life and works, we discussed the political, spiritual and intellectual structure of the period in which he lived. We focused on his scientific and sufi personality and introduced his works. In the second part, we tried to explain the ahkam verses and the issue of ahkam al-Quran. Then, we determined Bursevi's method of tafsir and his sources in tafsir. In particular, we tried to explain how much he benefited from the procedural rules in the interpretation of the verses of judgment. Since the main subject of our study is "ahkam al-Quran", we tried to determine the unique aspects of Bursevi's verses, how he evaluated the verses of ahkam from a mystical point of view, and the sources he benefited from. In the third chapter, we discussed the issues of ahkam al-Qur'an in Ruhu'l-beyan. Here, we discussed the method of tafsir, the interpretations of the verses and how he reconciled them with Sufism. In addition, by comparing them with the affair of classical jurists who lived before Bursevi, it is possible to compare them with the interpretations of the previous period and Bursevi tafsir. We tried to show the differences. In this part, which constitutes the main part of the thesis, firstly, the provision of basmala started, and after wudu, gusul ablution and tayammum, the verses related to prayer; Then, issues related to fasting, hajj, umrah and zakat were passed on. Later on, we examined the interpretation method on many main issues such as "The Interpretation of Moral Verses Regarding Family Law", "The Interpretation of Moral Verses About Criminal Law", "The Interpretation of Moral Verses About State Law", "The Interpretation of Moral Verses About Prohibited Foods". Thus, we think that we have revealed that Ismail Hakkı Bursevi is well-versed in the ishari interpretations of Hanafi and other sects in his commentary named Ruhu'l-beyan.
