İsmayıl Hakkı Baltacıoğlu's pedagogical philosophy

This study has been prepared to make a philosophical evaluation of the idea of pedagogical revolution proposed by Ismayıl Hakkı Baltacıoğlu about the Turkish philosophy of education. Our study was created based on the assumption that "Baltacioglu's idea of pedagogical revolution is a proposal for the elimination of educational problems that he has identified in the Turkish education system". In this context, first of all, the problems that Baltacioglu personally experienced in his educational and professional life have been dealt with separately as problematic. After analyzing Baltacioglu's findings in this direction, these problems were discussed in the context of Turkish educational philosophy, and his three main works on educational philosophy; The Revolution in Education and Education, the Social School and the Revolution in Pedagogy were examined, and the issues covered in these works were tried to be criticized within the Turkish educational system. At the beginning of the study, the awareness that pedagogical education should first be considered in connection with finishing education maintained its dominance throughout the study. While evaluating Baltacioglu's philosophical system, it was also tried to classify other ideas along this axis of consciousness. Baltacioglu's proposals for the elimination of educational problems of the Turkish philosophy of education, as well as the possibility that it can shed light on the problems of today's educational system, were evaluated as a different problematic, and as a result, the idea that the problems of today's philosophy of education can be repaired with Baltacioglu's system of pedagogical philosophy was tried to be based philosophically. Ultimately, the belief that the education system in Turkey can contribute to the development of the country has also been questioned and criticized through Baltacioglu's pedagogical philosophy.
