Abstract (EN)

Ismet Ozel; He is a poet who deeply influenced modern Turkish poetry and Turkish thought with his poems, prose and ideas. The poet, who has a strong bond between his poems and his thoughts, perceived Turkey's issues as a matter of his own existence and wanted to preserve the "unique" aspect of his self in line with the importance he attributed to the unity of thought and action, and to prevent his existence in the world from being placed in an ordinary place. This desire brought him closer to communism and then to Islam. The poet, who attaches value to the ontological bond formed by the unity between the principles of Islamic belief and the place he is in, opposed any attempt to commodify existence in order to protect this value. The main criticism of the poet is that the colonial, capitalist and imperialist hegemony of the world system built by Western civilization based on a "single-space" perception objectifies existence and places being in the world in an ordinary place in order to provide prosperity in the world. While approaching Marxism by first placing the concern of "authentic existence" and "preserving one's self" in front of this perception, the poet then places the way of perceiving the world from the perspective of the belief in the hereafter that the Islamic community has. The poet, who acquired the "consciousness of creation" by conversion, emphasizes in his poems and prose that man's primary duty is to "serve" and that he is obliged to take care of all beings in the place where he is in line with this duty. In this study, unlike the existing literature, Ismet Ozel's understanding of existence and space was focused, and the reflections of his perception of space in his lines were analyzed. The poet's 20 books and the views of the philosophers he was influenced by about existence and space were examined and a research was carried out covering all his poems. In addition to this, another aim of the study is to propose a re-reading of poetry-space studies from the perspective of ontology, to give priority to the transformation in the perception of space and the effect of this transformation on existence.
