Folkloric investigation of istanbul beykoz district

Beykoz, home to many civilizations in the historical process, has a great diversity of cultural. The first industrial breakthroughs and fabrication activities of the Ottoman Empire and the Republican period brought the population flow from outside to the region, and with the change in the demographic structure, Beykoz district became a cultural interaction area. Manavs, coming from the Kastamonu, coming from the Black Sea, the exchange with the region placed on the refugees, especially Poloni living in Polonezköy, different ethnic backgrounds from almost every region of Turkey and cultural backgrounds of people living together in Beykoz. This coexistence manifests itself in various elements of culture such as daily life, tradition, belief, aesthetic perception, architecture and art. In this study, information about the villages of Beykoz, the transition periods of life, folk knowledge, folk beliefs, folk cuisine, folk architecture, folk arts, folk economy, folk ceremonies, folk language and literature were determined by the methods of compiling oral culture products.
