Study on a few recreation areas in the Anatolian side of Bosphorus

This thesis contains four sections: -General information about the thesis, its contains and its purpose. -Theoretical information about recreation -Physical and social study on three recreation region (Küçük Çamlıca, Abrahampaşa, Fethipaşa). -Solution and suggestions. in the first section l tried to give general information about that thesis, its contains and its purpose. in the second section l tried to explain the definition, kinds and planning methods of recreation. Recreation is a concept that is heard too much and that contains many different meanings. Different definitions are made according to different disciplines. Origin of recreation comes from westem languages. "Re" means again. "Create" means to produce from absence. Re and Create come together and recreation word is produced. That new word means refreshment, game, to find yourself again ete. Another meaning of recreation is physical, spiritual and creative work of the people who doesn't aim to win a price, to eam money, ete. The main character of this form is that the action done gives the emotion of participating wish, pleasure, entertainment and satisfaction. VI- The administrative problems should be solved and security, maintenance and cleaning should be provided firstly. - The walking and going around places or roads should be identified easily. - The recreational needs and wants of users should be provided by categories etc. - The area should be designed for the people next to picnic areas. - The user will be excited to see the points those give information about the bestfulnes of the nature an forests and about the keeping these richness as clean as it must be. - The flouristic composition that forms the natural plant coverings of the recreation region should be kept from destroy. In the destroyed region the needed rehabilitation works should be done. For the reason of saving formation of the nature, the needed cultural and technical maintenance of the plants should be done in the recreation region.
