Historical development of Sultan kiosks in İstanbul mosques and Sultan Kiosk of Nusretiye Mosque

This work contains the architectural side of The Sultan Kiosk that is built in Ottoman's Empire's capital 'Istanbul' of the Mosques. The Sultan Kiosk were built for the mother of a reigning sultans who have rights in Ottoman Empire to govern the people. The Sultan Kiosk were firstly built in 17th century and continued to be built till the end of the 19th century as a tradition in Selatin Mosques (Sultan's Mosque). In the first chapter, the development of The Sultan Kiosks were told due to the concepts of the mosque and elevated lodge in a mosque. Also the economical and political situations of the Ottoman Empire was told when The Sultan Kiosk exists and how The Sultan Kiosk affect the direction of the Empire. In the second chapter, without restiction in periods, the existing royal kiosks in Istanbul mosques were determined and were formed. Due to the lists, catalogs were prepared and evaluations were done from various angles. In the third chapter, Nusretiye Mosque Sultan Kiosk was examined detailly, the measured drawing and restoration project was prepared and architectural structure, structural properties and ornament program were evoluated. In the fourth chapter, The Sultan Kiosks problems were described which exist in catalogs list and suggestions were made for protection.
