Abstract (EN)
SUMMARY Key words: Air Pollution, Natural Gas, Emission, Istanbul Air pollution is a phenomenon with which we are faced when leading modern life. Due to the over population the need for heating, light and energy for people has increased rapidly. However while providing energy from the resources to satisfy the needs, the remaining resources causes the life and nature in a negative way. On the other hand, the over population in cities has caused housing problems and the field of the forest considered the lungs of cities has decreased. What's more with the unplanned horrible urbanisation the number of shunties has increased. This situation causes air pollution and affects nature in a bad way. Therefore air pollution threatens the big cities especially Istanbul. To prevent air pollution the most crucial way is to use natural gas considered natural friend among convertional heating materials using natural gas is very common at the moment. In this work, firstly air pollution was deeply considered and observed the harmful emission. Secondly, the cleanist fosil heating material, gas was considered and studied the physical and chemical properties of natural gas. Finally, around İGDAŞ Beyoğlu branch chimney gas analysis has been focused on that has helped decrease air pollution in Istanbul. From this observation it has been found out that the people Istanbul has been unaware of using natural gas effectively. To get maximum result by using heating system, the amount of using natural gas isn't so sufficient chimney gas analysis is also needed. Î1V
