Abstract (EN)
Organizations are open systems interacting with environment. Therefore, they have to change in order to be adapted to the changes occurring in the environment. Change is a fact necessary for each organization to continue their existence. The era in which we live is the one in which change occurs the most and the fastest. Today much more different changes and innovations than in the past have been experienced in economy, social field, cultural life, political and social levels and technological structure. It is possible to say the same things for the educational organizations too. These developments have created needs for change in the structure and working of the educational organizations and have brought with them the resistance to change. It has gained importance for change to be executed in a planned way for the sake of stopping resistances to change. The general aim of this study is to indicate the primary education teachers' attitudes towards their reasons for resistance to change; their opinions about seeing themselves open to change; whether or not these attitudes and opinions differentiate greatly in meaning according to some of their personal variables.General Scanning Model was used in the study. In the study, a form consisting of six questions was used to determine the teachers' personal characteristics; and ?Ergin Change Scale? was used to determine their reasons for resistance to change. Questionnaire forms were conducted totally on 400 teachers. The data obtained from the questionnaires were analyzed through techniques such as arithmetic mean, percentage, standard deviation, chi-square(X2), variance analysis and t-test.The following results were obtained from the study:1.It has been seen that the majority of the persons have regarded themselves as open to change.2.There have been found no differences between the persons' opinions about seeing themselves open to change and the variables age, gender, marital status, educational level, the status of the school.3.The highest ones of the persons' reasons of resistance to change are ?rationalization?, ?anxiety of struggle? and ?resistance to general change?. The lowest ones have been seen to be the dimensions ?wait and see? and ?preserving the old".4.The persons? resistances to change have differentiated according to their personal variables.5.The persons? resistances to change have differentiated according to their opinions on what degree they regard themselves as open to change.
