A purse seiner's catch composition and amount within 2013-2014 season in Istanbul

This research was conducted in the Sea of Marmara in 2013-2014 hunting season with 26 m long and 480 Hp purse seiners. In this study, sustained during a hunting season for the Bosphorus entry - Tekirdag have made a total of 48 days during the fishing operation and 122 purse seine winding is done. Areas where hunting takes place, fishing depth, fishing efficiency, opening and finishing the sea-trip time, purse seine pulse and shot clock, air-sea-wind conditions evaluated. Approximately 25 % of the participation of the provided 122 purse seine winding was carried out under 24 m. The majority of the catching section, 31.5 %, is provided between 24 - 28 m. 29 % of the catching between 28 - 32 m, 10,5 % between 36 - 40 m and finally 4 % of the catching between 36 - 40 m was carried out. When the catch rates analyzed according to ratio of fish species, the largest proportion of the total catch belongs the 64,8 % of horse mackerel. All caught fish belongs to 30,5 % of blue fish, 4,2 % of sardine, 0,4 % of blue fish and lastly % 0,1 belongs to other fish species (Atlantic bonito, tub gurnard, toric, turbot and etc.). Considering to the based on the amount and distribution of the ratio in fishing zone, the catch took place in 11 regions and the most concentrated area was Ataköy's offshore with 37% ratio. Total catch was 387,638 tons and 143,5 tons of catch was performed these area. The amount and the rate of catching with examination on the basis of months, the maximum amount of fish was 95 tons and a 25 % ratio was found to occur in October. Catch per unit effort by month in the total catch ( CPUE ) are analyzed, the highest value in September, 686.4 kg/ hr/number of windigs be calculated. This was followed by October ( 644.1 kg/ hr/number of windigs ) , November ( 433.2 kg/hr/ number of windigs ) in February ( 393.9 kg/hr/ number of windigs ), April ( 356.0 kg/ hr/number of windigs ) January ( 346.1 kg/hr/number of windigs ) December ( 328.8 kg /hr/number of windigs ) and March values ( 224.1 kg/hr/number of windigs ) is followed . The average catch per unit effort of winding per net has been identified as 422.3 kg.
