Abstract (EN)

In the institutional THM compilations started with the Republic period in Turkey, many Çankırı folk songs were compiled and registered. In addition to the Çankırı folk songs registered in the TRT THM repertoire today, there are also many Çankırı folk songs in the Istanbul Conservatory (Dârü'l-Elhân) compilation books. While some of these songs are registered in the TRT THM repertoire, some are not. Therefore, it has not gained wide currency and has been forgotten over time. In this regard, examining Çankırı folk songs in the compilation books of the Istanbul Conservatory was considered significant with this study. With this study, the examination of Çankırı folk songs in IKDD by comparing them to the Çankırı folk songs registered in the TRT THM repertoire; unearthing the forgotten Çankırı folk songs, identifying the local belonging, disseminating them, revisiting them according to today's folk music, identifying their changes/transformations over time and passing them on to future generations were considered important. In this study, a mixed model in which qualitative and quantitative research methods and techniques are used together was implemented. Within the scope of the research, a scanning model was used for the collection of data. By this means, the folk songs of Çankırı region that are in the findings and commentary section were reached by scanning Istanbul Conservatory compilation books and TRT THM Repertoire. The folk songs of these regions were examined comparatively using the musical analysis method. In the analysis of the folk songs, a descriptive analysis method was preferred and the assessment was done. In order to increase the efficiency of the research, the historical method (document analysis) technique was also used. The data obtained were interpreted by converting them into tables for lucidity. In the light of the data obtained in this research, these are some of the gained results: in IKDD book between 8 and 14, a total of 390 folk songs belongs to the Çankırı region with a ratio of 11.03%; while some of these folk songs are registered in the TRT THM repertoire, some of them are not; the Çankırı folk songs in IKDD have the characteristics of a local dialect and reflect the local culture; most of the works in IKDD are in the 4/4, 9/8 and 2/4 rhythmic form and the folk songs in IKDD and TRT THM Repertoire are mostly A last note and generally in the eight-voice range.
