Abstract (EN)
As a space of cultural memory, folk songs reflect many cultural components such as the language, traditions and customs, beliefs, sufferings and worldviews of the geography in which they were created. In this context, Kastamonu folk songs reflect the cultural codes of the Kastamonu region both in terms of melody/rhythm and lyrics. In today's TRT TFM (Turkish Folk Music) repertoire, there are 79 Kastamonu folk songs that have been identified, but there are many Kastamonu folk songs that are not in the repertoire but are available in the Istanbul Conservatory Compilation Books (ICCB). In this context, it is important to reveal and analyze the Kastamonu folk songs compiled in the 1920s and included in the ICCB and present them to the interest/information of the researchers. In addition, bringing Kastamonu folk songs, which have sunk into oblivion, to the agenda again and transferring them to future generations is seen as an important cultural service. In this study, quantitative and qualitative research methods were used together. Using the screening model in the research, folk songs belonging to Kastamonu region in Istanbul Conservatory Compilation Books and TRT TFM Repertoire were identified. The detected folk songs were analyzed comparatively using the musical analysis method, and the situation was determined. In this respect, the research shows a descriptive study feature. In the light of the data obtained in this research, these are some of the gained results: in IKDD book between 8 and 14, a total of 390 folk songs belongs to the Kastamonu region with a ratio of 8.72% and 34 folk song; the Kastamonu folk songs in IKDD have the characteristics of a local dialect and reflect the local culture; the folk songs in IKDD and TRT THM Repertoire are mostly A last note and generally in the five-voice range; while some of these folk songs are registered in the TRT THM repertoire, some of them are not; most of the works in IKDD are in the 3/4, 4/4, 9/8 and 2/4 rhythmic form.
