Employment policies and analyze of unemployment structure: In illustration at Turkey

Employment and unemployment are two subjects, which are intensively focused on in economics literature. After big depression in 1929, these subjects became important for developed and developing countries, which faced problems with unemployment. During this period, high level of unemployment rates increased the number of various theories regarding employment and unemployment in economics literature and debates still keep on these two subjects.Unemployment is one of the biggest problems in Turkey. Current economic and social developments increased unemployment problem in recent years and it is imperative to solve this problem immediately.In this study, we aim to shed some light on the relationship between unemployment and structural problems in economy by correlating unemployment and underemployment using empirical analyses. To be able to analyse this relationship, we used data for years after 1990s and employed a series of panel-data analyses.According to our anlyses results, wages and productivity have a negative impact on employment. Another finding of this study indicates that investment incentives have a positive impact on employment. Another significant finding of analyses postulates that economic growth has a positive impact on employment.
