Abstract (EN)
Air conditioners are one of the most widely used applications in meeting air conditioning demands. Air conditioners are preferred thanks to their ability to operate in heating and cooling modes. Air conditioners operated in heating mode operate by performing a cycle similar to a heat pump. Failure to comply with the installation procedures of the companies producing air conditioners, insufficient knowledge of the personnel or installation errors made on the demands of the user cause the energy consumption of the air conditioning systems to increase and the system cannot perform the desired performance. In this study, the wrong installation application of the air conditioning system is modelled and its effects on Life Cycle Climate Performance (LCCP) and cost are examined while operating in heating mode. During the experiments, the air flow of the outdoor unit was blocked and the data at different fan stages were obtained. Then, in the light of these data, LCCP and cost analyses of the system were performed. During the experiment, data were obtained at different levels of fan speeds at each closing rate. The non-closing situation was taken as a reference value and comparisons were made according to the reference values. Accordingly, there is a difference of 991.03 kg CO2 when the LCCP values are compared between the reference case with a fan speed of 100% and the case where the air flow is blocked by 93% with a fan speed of 100%. The difference between the LCCP values is also reflected in the annual energy consumption and costs. In the case of 93% air flow obstruction, AEC is calculated 26.89% higher than the reference value.
