Committee of union and progress and the construction of Turkish militarism: Discourse analysis of the silah newspaper

The study is about understanding the structure called the state, which is one of the most important determinants of sociality, and it is power from a historical sociological approach. The state arena where various struggles are fight with its anti-static functioning structure, is an area where people and groups struggle to gather resources in a monopoly. In this struggle, sometimes infrastructural and sometimes underprivileged forms of power come to work. In particular, this study aims to comprehend this whole context through the discourses of Silah Newspaper, which is a product of the press activities that the Committee of Union and Progress society is running to strengthen its infrastructural power. In doing so, the focus will be on the use of militarism and social Darwinism, which have been made popular and popular.
