Abstract (EN)
Modification of Material Surface by Ion Beam Implantation Technique and Comparison with PVD Keywords: Ion implantation, PVD coating, wear, tribology, microharness, friction. 316 L Stainless Steel samples implanted with N, TiN and Zr. After implantation, these implanted samples had high hardness values, their wear resistance increased, friction coefficient decreased. The results showed that surfaces hardness of implanted samples were greatly increased with respect to unimplanted ones. On the other hand, their wear and friction values is seen decrease. Samples coated with TiN and Tinalox by PVD technique. Also showed increase in hardness values as the coefficient of friction decreased.. The advantages mentioned above are the result of surface modification of materials by Ion Beam Implantation and PVD coating technique. XI
