Abstract (EN)

Ionic liquids are studied intensively during last three decades both theoretical and experimental. In general it is convenient to refer ionic liquids as high temperature ionic liquids and room temperature ionic liquids. High temperature ionic liquids also can be called molten salts. In this thesis molten salts are considered, on the other hand low temperature ionic liquids nowadays become very important subjects because of their importance in green chemistry industry. Theoretical study of high temperature ionic liquids is based on integral equation theory and simulation experiments. In this thesis local structure of polyvalent metal halides which are ionic liquids are studied by using integral equation theory. As an example of polyvalent metal halides NaCl, CuCl, YCl3, AlCl3 are considered. For these systems Ornstein-Zernike (O-Z) equations was solved numerical with Hypernetted chain closure (HNC) by choosing appropriate model pair interactions for each system. Local structural properties of these system such as ionic bond length and coordination numbers was obtained from partial radial distribution functions, structure factors and coordination number. Structural properties of other polyvalent metal halides and some thermodynamics properties in equilibrium also discussed. Among very wide application of molten salts in industry some of them are discussed. Keywords: ?onic liquids, molten salts, radial distribution functions, AlCl3, CuCl, YCl3 partly quenched ionic liquids
