ABSTRACT Ms.D.Thesis SUDDEN DISTURBANCES IN THE IONOSPHERE Tuba KARABO?A Fırat University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences Department of Physics 2005, Page: 47 The regions called as the spot on the Sun area is that these regions have big magnetic field. Generally, the flares consist from these spots. These events called as flares are too sudden. As results of these flares, X ray, EUV ray, gamma ray and charged particles are propagated to space. As these propagations arrive to Earth, they cause important changes in the magnetosphere and ionosphere. Besides, these events affect the phase of wave and the propagation. These events called as the sudden disturbances consist without becoming a warning systems and continuous a few minute or days. The sudden enhancement of densities X ray, UV and EUV rays making up at results of die Sun flares coming to our Earth have been investigated how ionosphere affects and have been studied to explain the sudden disturbances in the ionosphere.
