The opinions of the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality employees about the quality of the in-service training programs

The study was carried out in order to determine the opinions of the zmirMetropolitan Municipality employees about the quality of the in-service training.The sample of this study consists of 214 municipality personnels working atzmir Metropolitan Municipality. The data were obtained by means of a questionform, being analyzed the literature and being acquired subject matter expert opinionby the researcher. During the process of data evaluation, percentage technique andpercentage comparison were conducted.Most of the personnels attended this study have joined the in-service trainingprogramme once at least. It is concluded that most of them have not had anorientation education, the need of the in-service training has been determined by theadministrator. That in-service trainings are benefical has been emphasised by mostof the personnels. It is concluded that the duration of the lesson has been insufficent,the metarials have not been provided enough, in accordance with the personnels?opinions an evaluation has not been done at the end of the in-service trainingprogramme and any certificates have not been handed.In light of the outcomes of data necessary suggestion has been proposed.Key Words : municipality personnel, in-service training.
