The expectation of high school and college school students from youth service centers in İzmir

The aim of this study was to measure the expectations of high school and university youth who are studying in Izmir and Izmir's provinces towards youth centers. Within the scope of this research, young people who are studying at high school and university in the province of Izmir and the districts in the province were used as the main characters of the reasearch. 1761 high school and university students who are studying in Izmir city center and districts were reached in the research modelling. The SPSS 20.0 package application was used to statistically evaluate the input and data obtained from the study group. Normality test was performed and it was found that the data were normally distributed. To determine whether there were significant differences between the group in terms of age, gender, educational status, and district variables of high school and university students, Independent Sample t-test and One-Way ANOVA tests were used. Post-hoc test results were examined in order to determine between which categories the significant difference was in multiple comparisons and in homogeneously distributed groups LSD and Tamhane test findings in non-homogeneous groups were reported. Independent Sample t-test and One-Way ANOVA tests were used to determine whether there were significant differences between the groups within the scope of significance level variables. The significance level was accepted as α=0.05. As a result of the research, whereas there were no significant differences between the groups according to the variables of gender and educational status of the students who continue their education at the schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in Izmir province, its districts and at the universities in Izmir, significant differences were found between the groups in terms of age and educational status.
