Abstract (EN)

İzmir 112 Ambulance Service which will take part in field management in disasters in the research is to reveal the level of knowledge about the treatment of field crush syndrome and its related factors especially education. The general screening model was used in this study. A total of 310 people participated in the research. A questionnaire was developed by the researcher and data were collected. The dates of 20.10.2017-20.12.2017 have been determined as research applications in the province of Izmir. Data were analyzed with the SPSS 24.0 package program. Continuous variables are expressed as mean ± standard deviation, median (minimum and maximum values), and categorical variables as number and percentage. Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal Wallis ANOVA were used to compare independent group differences.Chi-square analysis was used to compare categorical variables. 61, 9% of the 310 people who participated in the survey were females. There is a positive correlation between the level of knowledge about the treatment of crush syndrome and the educational status of crush syndrome. It has been determined that although the employees' profession and crush knowledge are sufficient, they are also related to the level of knowledge, but they do not show a meaningful relationship with the unit they are working with. According to the results of the research, the level of knowledge about the treatment of field crush syndrome in 112 Ambulance Service staff of the province of İzmir is sufficient and there are significant differences according to their age, occupation, education status, duty period, encounter situation, knowledge and education. It has been determined that the occupation of the employees is influential on the level of knowledge of encountering crush events and experiencing them. In this context, it is necessary to create different trauma scenarios and to be able to apply the information that the staff learns. All employees should be supported with in-service training.
