vA SIMULATION OF ABSORBTION REFRIGERATION STORAGE USINGGEOTHERMAL ENERGY SOURCE FOR IZMIR(Thesıs For Master Degree)Tuner ŞAHİNGAZI UNIVERSITYSCIENCE INSTITUTENovember 2006ABSTRACTThe energy is produced by consuming the fuel from fossils in our country as inall over the world. When all the sources of fuel from fossils are run out in nearfuture and to the requirements of Kyoto declaration, when the studies onminimizing the world?s total fuel from fossils consumption are considered, itwill be nesessary to develop the new and renew true energy sources usage areaand the technologies of them. Among the other countries, Turkey is the seventhcountry who has new and renew energy sources. Approximately 140 sourcesover 40 C as the surface temparature are found. The results show that theevaluation of all the sources in our country is equivalent to 9 billion $ as in thefield of fuel oil . In this study, considering the geothermal characteristics ofBalçova Geothermal area, Izmır, an alternative absorption refrigeration storagehas been simulated for fruit storage to replace the refrigeration storage systemswith electric and natural gases. Operating cost analysis of the absorptionrefrigeratıon storage which is simulated using LiBr-H2O as the working fluidin the cycle, has been calculated and compared with the conventional absorptionrefrigeration storages with electric and natural gases.Science code : 708.3.015Key words : Geothermal Energy, Absorbtion RefrigerationNumber of pages : 107Advisor : Yrd.
