Abstract (EN)

Today, it is possible to say that media, technology, urbanisation and industrialisation have some negative effects on culture. It can be claimed that the global culture formed as a result of these processes has begun to cause local cultures to be forgotten or even, to put it pessimistically, to disappear. The fact that local culture is forgotten and begins to lead to its extinction has led to the creation of various policies- one of the most important of which is the work carried out by UNESCO- for the protection of local culture. Perhaps the most important work that can be done to protect local culture and transfer it to future generations is the compilation of folklore elements of the region. In this study, firstly, information about the location, history, demographic structure and economy of Bulgaria, which is our research area, is given and the folklore elements identified in the study area are classified by creating a certain classification method. Then, the elements of folklore identified in the study area are classified by creating a certain classification method, and it is aimed to contribute to the field of Turkish Folklore by revealing the rich folklore accumulation of the region.
