Abstract (EN)
Today rapidly advanced materials diversity of technological/advanced technological applications and on increasing rapidly demand for composites showing different characteristics. Between increasing demands of these advanced materials lightness and strength properties of the materials to provide the one of best alternative is the continuous fibre reinforced plastic matrix composites. Plastic matrix composites as well as characteristic of lightweight and high strength, side with a wide range of applications with low cost, easy applicability, corrosion resistance properties. Today, the most preferred plastic matrix materials are thermosetting. Thermosetting materials reinforced with fiber, provide good adhesion and constitute strong interface. General-purpose polymer matrix composite applicationsstand out use of glass fibre as a reinforcement elementbecause of strength/cost advantages. Basalt fibre is a fibre developed as an alternative type of glass fibres and properties are still investigating. Fibre reinforcement is used form of continuous and discontinuous in the composite structures. With use of discontinuous fibre rather than continuous fibres in the direction of force the higher strength values can be obtained. In this study, isophtalic polyester resin, as one type of thermosetting, used as a matrix material. Reinforcements were continuous glass fiber and basalt fiber. The composite materials were produced by two types of fiber and by the physical and mechanical tests were applied to characterize materials and fiber types were determined on each other advantages. In this way, intended of new composite materials production and improve with the combination of alternative materials.
