Abstract (EN)
Two different Schiff bases were synthesized by polycondensation reaction of 4-amino phenol with 4-isopropyl benzaldehyde and 4-tert-butyl benzaldehyde. Oxidative polycondensation reaction conditions of the synthesized Schiff bases in aqueous alkaline medium between 40-90oC temperature were investigated. NaOCl and air oxygen were used as oxidants in reactions. The structures of synthesized monomers and polymers were elucidated by FT-IR, UV-vis, NMR and cyclic voltammetry (CV) techniques. The characterization of synthesized polymers were determined by conductivity and SEC techniques. Thermal properties of all synthesized compounds were determined by TGA-DTA and DSC analysis. Photoluminesans (PL) properties of the synthesized materials were measured in solution DMF. Fluorescence measurements were carried out in various concentrated solutions to determine the optimum concentrations to obtain the maximal PL intensities.
