Abstract (EN)

The main subject of this thesis is to examine the fugue and inventive forms of Johann Sebastian Bach, the great composer of the Baroque era, in terms of musicality standards. In this study, both the historical and theoretical aspects of the aforementioned forms were examined in detail and the determinations based on the data were included. Solid, free and double counterpoint writings, ornaments, and imitations used by Bach in the aforementioned forms are explained in a wide framework with definitions and examples, and examples of their use in the works are given. The functions of the counterpoint writings used by Bach are dated from time to time in the analysis of the work, and a more understandable expression is given through figures. In this study, a systematic way of polyphony writing from the Baroque era to Bach and after Bach has been followed by applying a chronological narrative regarding the development of counterpoint writing in history. It is aimed to reach a competent conclusion from common and distinctive differences by including many works and albums of Bach in the thesis.
