The Gendarmerie organization and its development in the historical process

The establishment of the security forces and the army, which play a vital role in the survival of the state and are mentioned by various names throughout its historical development, is known as the date when people began to live as a whole or the state was formed. In this study, the gendarmerie organization, which performs an important task in meeting the security needs, has been tried to be explained. Societies have enacted laws and established security organizations according to the needs of the time so that people can live in safety. In this study, the gendarmerie structures of the countries that have come to the fore both with their organizational history and strong state structures are mentioned. During the War of Independence, the Gendarmerie stood by the troops fighting at the front, despite the difficult conditions of the country and the insufficient logistics power of the organization. In this study; This process of the gendarmerie, which has been strengthened, renewed and updated with new laws from the Republican years to the present, has been examined. Gendarmerie and police departments; takes measures to protect citizens from being victims of various crimes. In this study, the internal structure and functioning of the Gendarmerie Organization, which provides the security and peace of the citizens, has been examined. The structure and functioning of the Gendarmerie were separated from the law enforcement officers under the Ministry of Interior.
