Abstract (EN)

Turkish folk music studies is a branch of folklore research. Turkish folk music studies has gained importance since the first years of Turkish Republic. On the other hand, in upcoming years, this importance begins to decline. The number of studies in the field of Turkish folk music is few. János Sipos is the primary Turkish folk music researcher as well as according to Turkish folk music studies, compilation studies of Sipos which started 1987 has significant role. The aim of our thesis is to introduce the studies of Turkish folk music of János Sipos to the Turkish scientific world. In addition, our thoughts about Turkish folk music were tried to add to the thesis. Our thesis consists of two basic parts. The introduction of the thesis is about Turkish-Hungarian relationships, the first part of the thesis is mentioned about Sipos' life, education and ethnomusicologists who impress Sipos. The second part of the thesis makes reference to books of Sipos. In the conclusion part, the importance of compilation studies carried out by Sipos, an ethnomusicologist, has been tried to emphasize.
