Abstract (EN)

Geoeconomics as a new science used to define the reshaped economic and political relations between and within states after the Cold War. This science also guides to the nation states to redefine themselves in the new world order. Geoeconomics is the last chain of the concept evolution to interprete interstate system and foreign policy practicies after the appearance of the nation states. Methodologically it puts emphasis on economics, geography and technology more over than politics.The geographical position, economic, historical and cultural past and relations with neigbouring countries grant Turkey to create an economic space in the vast geography. Thus, geoeconomics should be the policy to implement to create an economic space and to develop economic interactions for Turkey. Therefore, considering geoeconomics as a new science and to investigate the historical geography of Turkey and economic relations in that geoegraphy is very important for Turkey and the regional states in the new world order.In this work, ?geoeconomics? is identified scientificly and it is discussed about the importance for Turkey. And also Turkish historical geoeconomic space is investigated to form scientific base to develop practical policies in the future.
