Abstract (EN)
Although the opinion that children and young people are miniature adults has been destroyed years ago and a specific literature has been started to be created for them, this does not mean that certain subjects are strictly kept away from them and that they can never take place in children's and youth literature. There should not be any red lines between adult literature and child and youth literature because there is nothing that cannot be explained to children in a suitable wording. Adults literature based intralingual and interlingual translations adapted to children's and youth literature are an important factor in the demolition of this perception. What kind of gains and losses the source text suffers during such translations will be discussed in our thesis. The main texts on which the thesis is based on, is the novel of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, titled as 'Reineke Fuchs' and written for adult literature, the intralingual translation of Janosch and the interlingual translation of Zeyyat Selimoğlu, both adapted to children's and youth literature. These three works were firstly analyzed and compared in line with Christiane Nord's text analysis model; it was analyzed in terms of translation, in line with the Interpretive Translation Theory, a product of the researchers of ESIT (Paris School of Translators and Interpreters established in 1957); the suitability of the translations to the target audience is discussed and finally evaluated in terms of gains and losses.
