Examination of the relationship between leg stiffness and reactive force and agility in judoists

Abstract (EN)

The Study aimed to examine the relationship between leg stiffness parameters and reactive force indexes and agility values of Judo athletes in Ankara. 20 Female and 20 Male athletes volunteered to participate in the study, with an average age of 16.40 ± 1.28 years and who have been practicing judo for an average of 7.83 ± 1.36 years are been included on the basis of the study, after the participants' demographic information (age, gender, height, weight, sports age) was obtained, they were made to do 15-minute warm-up exercises, then the Optojump Measurement Device, leg stiffness and drop jump measurements were performed, and in the afternoon, the IMTP test (Kistler Multicomponent Force Plate Type 9260AA portable force platform) has been executed. On the second day, reactive agility measurements were performed with the Speedcourt device. In the analysis of the data, the Shapiro-Wilk results were examined as the number of samples according to gender was 20, and it was seen that the data were normally distributed (p>0.05). Results of the descriptive analysis of the study; For quantitative data, it was presented as mean, standard deviation, median, minimum and maximum, and for categorical data, it was presented as frequency and percentage. The relationship between variables was determined by Pearson correlation coefficient. The following criteria were adopted to interpret the magnitude of correlations between measured variables: <0.1 (insignificant), 0.1–0.3 (small), 0.3–0.5 (medium), 0.5–0.7 (large ), 0.7–0.9 (very large) and 0.9–1.0 (almost perfect) (Hopkins, 2009). Differences of variables according to gender were analyzed by independent samples T test, and the effect of independent variables on the dependent variable was analyzed by multiple linear regression. The forward stepwise method was used in multiple linear regression analysis (Stepwise: Forward). The conformity of the residuals to normal distribution was analyzed by the Shapiro-Wilk test and the homogeneity by the Studentized Breusch-Pagan test. Equations for regression models were created using the standard linear regression formula. According to the results of Pearson correlation analysis of the participants in our study; A significant relationship was observed between imTP relative peak power and RCI (r = 0.53) and drop jump power (r = 0.52). The p value of the DJ Power variable is 0.003, and the p value of the RKİ variable is 0.006. The values show a significant difference between genders. These data reinforce the knowledge that power can have a significant effect on the reactive force index. (p>0.05). From the data in our study, an almost perfect relationship between DJ Power and RKİ (r = 1.00) was determined.At the same time, a significant positive correlation was determined between RCI and IMTP Relative at a large level (r=0.53), and between IMTP Total and IMTP Relative and BS at a medium and large level (r=0.34 and r=0.60). In our study, a significant difference was detected between genders according to the T test results. (p<0.001). According to Pearson correlation analysis, a negatively significant relationship was detected between IMTP relative peak power and agility test at (r=-0.56), and a negative significant relationship was determined between IMTP Total and agility (r=-0.46). No significant relationship was found between leg stiffness and reactive agility. The relationship of Imtp values with reactive strength agility and leg stiffness is remarkable. Leg stiffness, as measured by dynamically imposed performances, Ability to generate force isometrically with rsi and reactive agility values connected to Significant relationships were found with imtp values.
