Julianus von Klaproth's Travels to Caucasus and Georgia (Translation-analysis)

Commencing XVIIIth and XIXth centuries until XXth century several travels committed to the Caucasus region. Though all those travels executed on different aims they all still very important. As very well known Caucasus is, either for the geographical portrait or variety of the population includes, highly complex territory and never lost the importance of being a gate. Besides the hardship of studying the Caucasus people, their language, culture and ethnicity, these works gained more and more importance through time. Early periods on race of domination Russian Empire planned expeditions to these regions. For this work, in view of the reports from XVIIIth century travels St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences assigned the German academician, linguist, historian, etymologist, oryantalist and explorer who works for them, Julianus von Klaproth. Klaproth wrote his work not just as travels memorial he issues the work as linguistic and ethimologic paper. However, he also collects besides traditions and legends, coins and scripts. Thus Caucasus possesses a great place in the world's history still for the Turkish history and the Turkish Culture this same region symbolizes an equally great place. Also that is unsuspecting the Turkis culture can be seen even better than anywhere else but in Caucasus for the variety of the language and culture it contains. Consequently all these travels comitted in XVIIIth and XIXth centuries present extreme value for that reason. The common conclusion says nomadic nations cannot overcome the settled communities yet the position of Anatolia in the present and the people of Caucasus, their common languages and even some tribe names proves the opposite. The document of this travels made by Mr. von Klaproth and this work we translate and analysed this document, may put a light upon the portrait of the Turkis History and Culture within such a unique region that is Caucasus.
