Original research and work recommendations that develop right and left hand techniques in kabak kemane training

The instrument of clamour, known as the ancestor of string instruments, has evolved over time, has been produced in different appearances, sizes and materials, ensuring its continuity until today. In terms of its structure, appearance and sound, we can say that the kabak kemane instrument performed today is a string instrument closest to the clamour and comes from a deep-rooted past. The involvement of the kabak kemane in the educational process began with the establishment of conservatories, but due to the small number of teaching staff, the teaching of the instrument could not be carried out in a healthy way. Today, we can say that there are some deficiencies in kabak kemane training. One of these shortcomings is the right and left hand techniques that are part of the methodology. When the literature review was carried out on the right and left hand techniques of kabak kemane, this thesis study appeared due to the fact that there are not enough such studies. Within the scope of the study, it was aimed to conduct interviews with educators and performers to determine how these techniques are demonstrated in notation and whether there is a common terminology. The research was limited to 13 kabak kemane educators and 5 kabak kemane performers. This study has been prepared within the framework of qualitative research and is a descriptive study based on the screening model. Developed by the researcher, semi-structured interview form was prepared and online participants kabak kemane education, it was recorded for right and left hand techniques were later interpreted by content analysis and opinions on the current situation. Then, the symbols related to the right and left hand techniques and the techniques to be used in the kabak kemane were determined, then original studies and works suitable for the form of the instrument were produced and the right and left hand techniques were shown on the note. In addition to kabak kemane training, instrument training and Turkish Folk Music repertoire, the research is thought to be important in terms of providing original studies and works, showing the right and left hand techniques on notation to the studies and works produced and being an example for other studies.
