Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, the data transfer layer of wireless sensor networks has been discussed and an efficient protocol has been developed for the transmission of multimedia data. Developed protocol try to find at least one of the existing paths before the transmission of multimedia data between the source and the destination node and then using these nodes on the path or paths actual data is transmitted from the source to the destination. OMNeT++ and Castalia have been used as simulation tool. Proposed protocol has been developed using C++ programming language and compared with DTSN(Distributed Transport for Sensor Networks) transport protocol. The experimental results have shown that the developed protocol is more successful in the transmission of multimedia data.Key Words : Wireless Sensor Networks, Multimedia Communications, Protocol
