Abstract (EN)

Today, together with the global economic crisis and changing trends, employment concept has gained a new dimension. A rapid and sharp increase in layoffs due to crisis has changed the progress of both career management and planning; employees and companies have to review these concepts. However, this situation is much harder for women employees. As there are some factors that affect women?s career in both social and business life, they create a glass ceiling hard to overcome. Not having a career that promotes regularly either in the company or sector, women employees? organizational commitments decrease and job quit intentions increase.Not having a mentor, work ? family conflicts, male dominant networks and stereotyping in the country are the leading barriers for women. As a result, wage inequalities and position injustices, low job satisfaction and high job quit intentions are experienced. Also, differences in organizational commitment levels can be seen.The aim of the existing study is to identify the barriers that women face and the effects of them to their organizational commitment. Thus, literature review was made and the barriers, their results are explained in details. The study includes the women employees in four and five star hotels in Kuşadası. As a research method, a questionnaire was prepared and applied to women. The results of the study are also evaluated.
