Problems of women entrepreneurs and solution proposals: Example of Amasya

"Entrepreneurship" is seen as one of the most important tools of sustaining the existence in an increasingly competitive environment with globalization, providing sustainable growth and social development in the economy, and finding an important solution for the increasing unemployment problem. Multidimensional development of entrepreneurship is among the priorities of all countries. Another important issue that has gained importance both economically and socially over the years is the developments in the field of "women entrepreneurship". The political and economic realities that emerged only revealed the inadequacy of the male population, thus making it compulsory for women to participate in the existing workforce. By opening the way for women entrepreneurship, not only solutions to social economic problems were found, but also because of their own private businesses, their economic independence and self-confidence helped them increase their social status. Entrepreneurship is considered as a very serious tool in obtaining these positive opportunities. In the thesis study, the profiles of women entrepreneurs registered in Amasya city center and its districts were determined and an effort was made to examine the current working conditions; Efforts have been made to reveal the reasons and features that push women to entrepreneurship. All the data obtained in the study were obtained through questionnaires and statistical findings were emphasized. It has been determined that "capital supply" and "tax burden" are among the highest problems encountered by women entrepreneurs both in establishing their own businesses and in their activities.
