Abstract (EN)
As a result of developing technology and global events, the internet and social media have become one of the main channels of feminist activism, and within this regard, the concept of cyberfeminism has gained importance. The study deals with the ways in which social media is used as a cyberfeminist activism area by women-oriented non-governmental organizations and with the experiences of some members of women's organizations in this field. Based on this, this study is designed to reveal how and with what motivation social media is used by women-oriented non-governmental organizations as a field of cyberfeminist activism, through interviews with members of women's organizations, and to find and describe the underlying essence of this situation. The thesis, therefore, is the result of a field research conducted with participants from women-oriented non-governmental organizations. The research, which was conducted by adopting a qualitative method, includes qualitative data obtained from semi-structured in-depth interviews with 30 participants from women-oriented NGOs. In this context, after mentioning the demographic characteristics of the NGO members to whom in-depth interviews were conducted within the scope of the study, the fields of activity of the NGOs they are members of, the contribution they make to the NGO and how they feel as a result were discussed by focusing on daily life, cyberfeminism, internet, women's movement and the participants' views on the future of the women's movement". As a result of the data obtained within the scope of this doctoral thesis; it has been shown that the theory of cyberfeminism, which aims to ensure gender equality by strengthening the presence of women in the digital field, contributes to social transformation through women-oriented NGOs and the economic, social and political empowerment of women. It has been determined that NGOs play an important role, especially in areas such as economic empowerment of women, women's solidarity and organization, awareness raising and policy making. These findings have revealed that the activities of women-oriented non-governmental organizations are important for social transformation and women's empowerment.
