Abstract (EN)
Effects of Female Athletes' Sportsmanship Tendency on Ethics Position In this study, it was aimed to determine the relationship between the personal ethical position and sportsmanship behaviors of female athletes, who actively do sports. The study was conducted by adopting the relational scanning model, and the data were collected using the survey method. The sample group of the study, which investigated the sportsmanship tendencies and ethical positions of athletes, consisted of female athletes from Football, Volleyball, Basketball and Handball included matters aimed at personal information while the second section covered the "Ethics Position Questionnaire (EPQ)" followed by the "Multidimensional Sportspersonship Orientations Scale (MSOS)" in the third section. While the Ethics Position questionnaire was evaluated in terms of the subscales of idealism and relativism, the Multidimensional Sportspersonship Orientations Scale was evaluated in terms of the subscales of social conventions, commitment, rules and officials and opponent. The analyses of the data obtained from the survey form were conducted by using SPSS 22.0 package software. Frequency and percentage analyses were conducted in the determination of demographic information. Prior to the data analyses, the data were tested for normality distribution by using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test in order to determine the tests to be used, and it was determined that the data did not provide normality distribution. Thus, the Mann-Whitney test, which is one of the non-parametric tests, was used for two-sample group comparisons while the Kruskal Wallis test was used for multiple sample comparisons in the data analyses. Additionally, in order to determine whether any relationship existed between the subscales of MSOS and EPQ scales, correlation analyses were conducted. The statistical significance level was determined as p<0.05. According to the data obtained as a result of the study, it was determined that statistically significant differences existed between the subscales of MSOS and EPQ in terms of the branch variable of female athletes in the two and three-sample comparisons while no statistically significant difference was determined in the two and three-sample comparisons conducted for the education level variable of the female athletes in MSOS and EPQ inventories. In terms of the period of doing sports variable, while a statistically significant difference existed in the MSOS inventory of the female athletes, no significant difference was determined for EPQ inventory. For the age variable, the female athletes constituted a statistically significant difference in the MSOS inventory while no significant difference was observed for EPQ inventory. Lastly, as a result of the correlation analysis conducted for the subscales of the MSOS and EPQ scales for female athletes, significant and positive correlations were determined.
