The moderating role of political skill of foremen in the effect of conflict between women textile workers and foremen on job satisfaction

In this study, it is examined that, in textile companies operating in Bursa province, the effects of the interpersonal conflict between the foremen and the women laborers working under these foremen on the job satisfaction of the subordinate, and whether the political skill of the foreman is a moderating role in this relationship. Within the scope of the research, data of 478 women laborers and 125 foremen were obtained through the face-to-face survey method. The reliability of the scales was tested with the Cronbach Alpha coefficient and their validity with the explanatory and confirmatory factor analyses. Correlation analysis of research variables was also performed. Finally, the hypotheses included in the research were tested with Process and HLM (Hierarchical Linear Modeling) methods.As a result of the analyses, it was revealed that the interpersonal conflict between the foremen and the women laborers working under these foremen has a significant negative impact on the job satisfaction of the women textile workers. On the other hand, it was determined that the political skill of the foremen perceived by women workers has a significant positive effect on the job satisfaction of women workers, while the political skill of the foremen perceived by themselves has no significant effect on the job satisfaction of women workers. Moreover, it was found that the political skill of the foreman that was evaluated by women laborers and the foreman himself has a moderating role in this relationship.
