A qualitative research on the factors affecting the work-life balance of female tourist guides

Tourist guides, who interact one-to-one with guests in terms of country promotion, are one of the building blocks of the sector. For this reason, it is an important issue to determine the professional difficulties experienced by people working in this professional group. The main purpose of this master's thesis is to determine the factors affecting the job and life satisfaction of female tourist guides. These factors have been examined using qualitative research methods. According to the findings, it has been revealed that women who work as tourist guides are generally exposed to discrimination and injustices related to their social roles and gender and have difficulties in establishing a work-life balance.
