Abstract (EN)

This study is done with the aim of analyzing Centers for Preventing and Monitoring Violence as a sample of social policies for struggle with domestic violence against women and offering some solutions related with the topic. Such terms as violence, domestic violence against women, social policy, women's shelter, Centers for Preventing and Monitoring Violence are explained in the study. Besides legal regulations for struggle with domestic violence against women and social policy applications are given place and some explanations are made about the structure, styles of work, and activities of Centers for Preventing and Monitoring Violence. Field work of the study was done in Ankara. Starting from this point, skilled personnel (6 people) working in Centers for Preventing and Monitoring Violence and women (63 people) having made applications for Centers for Preventing and Monitoring Violence were interviewed. The interviews with women were made in women's shelter and the interviews with the personnel were made in Centers for Preventing and Monitoring Violence. Interviews were recorded with tape recorders. As a result of the study some recommendations are made about it and the evaluations of legal applications are determined from both women's and Personnel's point of view,their expectations and recommendations are mentioned. It is tried to put forward that domestic violence against women has a complex and multifaceted structure and it is necessary to act in the same multifaceted way to fight against it.
