Investigation of marriage adjustment in women in terms of family functioning and religious coping

This research aims to examine marital adjustment in women in terms of religious coping methods, family functions, religious and socio-economic variables. A quantitative approach was adopted in the study. For this purpose, a questionnaire was applied to 415 married women in different age groups via google form. In the survey study, the educational status, occupation, income level, etc. of the participants. demographic characteristics were taken into account. Personal information form, Marriage Adjustment Scale, Religious Coping Scale and Family Evaluation Scale were used as data collection tools in the study. According to the research, a significant relationship was found between marital adjustment and the scores obtained from the religious coping scale. A positive relationship was observed between marital adjustment and positive religious coping, and a negative relationship was observed between marital adjustment and negative religious coping sub-dimension. A statistically significant positive correlation was also found between the total scores of the sub-dimensions of the family assessment scale such as communication, roles, emotional response, showing the necessary attention, behavior control, and general functions. A positive correlation was found between the total score obtained from marital adjustment and the total score of the problem solving sub-dimension. In addition, it has been determined that marital adjustment is related to variables such as income level, education level, and problem solving perception level. A positive relationship was found between marital adjustment and perception of problem solving. A statistically significant positive correlation was also found between the forgiveness of religious belief and marital adjustment. Finally, no significant relationship was found between variables such as age, living in a rural or urban area, length of marriage and marital adjustment.
