Determining womens present knovledge and attitudes towards the protection of environment (Afyonkarahisar sample)

In this research it is aimed to determine the knowledge and attitudes of the women living in Afyonkarahisar and having various and different educational level towards the protection of the environment. The universe of the research consists of the women over 18 in Afyonkarahisar. 300 women having different educational level and being chosen by simple random sampling method constitute the sampling of the survey. In this study, a questionnaire form has been developed and applied ( with the aim to ) determine the attitudes and knowledge of the women towards environment and environmental problems and by using related resources. By Using SPSS programme, ?2 values and variance analysis have been applied on the findings obtained in the survey. After the research, the results below are obtained 1. It is found that the knowledge of women about environment knowledge, the reasons of environmental problems and knowledge about the prevention of these problems are parallel to the level of women?s educational level. They rise proportionally. 2. Women?s educational levels have an effect on their attitudes towards environment and protection of environment. 3. It is found out that women are willing to participate in the seminars, conferences, courses and similar activities about environment and environmental problems.
