Psychological resistance, political orientations and feminist identity of women who exposed to violence in their romantic relationship

This research is designed to study relationships between feminist identification, psychological violence and psychological resilience. Another aim of the present research is to view what kind of relationship feminist identity has with political orientation and the effect of this relationship on psychological resilience. One of the main questions of this research is whether feminist identity and political orientation show an protective effect together or not, in consideration of psychological violence's destructive effect on resilience. Therefore, for this purpose 313 women who are heterosexual and have a romantic relationship experience and currently in a romantic relationship were sampled. To collect the data, the participants filled the questionnaires in this order: Personal Information Form, Abuse of Psychological Aggression Inventory, Resilience Scale for Adults, Perception of Control in the Relationship Inventory, Feminist Identity Composite Scale, Ambivalent Sexism Inventory and Political Orientation Inventory. This data had collected through internet or with paper and pencil. As a result of the analyzes, it determined that feminist identity doesn't have a protective role in the effect of psychologcal violence on resilience and control perception in relationship but there is a protective effect in varios steps of right wing political orientaion. Moreover, it is concluded that there is a negative correlation between psychologcal violence and resilience and possitive correlation between feminist identity, control perception in relationship and resilience. Consequently, this research expected to present information about the protection and intervention program towards psychological violence by supporting the research in feminism in Turkey, feminist identity and political orientation.
