Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACTBasic aim of this study was to reveal women?s sympathy for polities,their participation levels and the factors affecting their participation and toinvestigate woman-polities and social structure relationship starting fromvoting behaviours to representation ratio of women in the Parliament.In the study, the effect of Turkish modernization to woman identity wasexamined, the benefits of women were touchedon, and within the politieswoman relationship, women taking part in political parties or in goverments,political leaders and women writing about politics were mentioned.Development stages according to the periods were depieted, distribution ofthe deputics per genders, ratio of the woman ministers and the woman inlocal authorities at the end of elections were given in order to examine theprogress made since Tanzimat Period up to date.The findings obtaind from Mamak and Çankaya regions were assessedin SPSS and looking at these findings, the profile of woman voters were triedto be determined, and the factors affecting the political of women wereexamined. As a result of the interviews made with women?s branches of AKP(Justicc and Development Party) and CHP (Republican People?s Party),functions of the women?s branch, which was an intermediate step in politics,were determined, information about branch members denographical andsocio-cultural characteristics was given and political foundations wereemphasized.
