Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is, to investigate the effects of participation of women in sports activities on leisure time satisfaction and quality of life. In the scope of the study, leisure time satisfaction and quality of life scales were used considering the demographic information of the members who continued to B-Fit sports centers. In addition, in line with the obtained data; proceed to evaluation stage by benefiting from analysis and discussion techniques. Within the scope of this study; a sample of about 350,000 female members attending B-Fit sports centers was randomly selected. Then, the number of women who wanted to participate in the survey was determined and the number of volunteers reached 524. The study was made using the "screening model". Additionally, "Free Time Satisfaction Scale" (BZTÖ) was used which has 29 questions and 6 subscales developed by Beard and Ragheb in 1980 and based on validity and reliability of Turkish in 2008 by Karlı, Polat, Yılmaz and Koçak. However, the Turkish validity reliability study developed by WHO (1998) to assess the quality of life has been adapted to the World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQOL-BREF), which was conducted by Sevil (2015).In the study, information provided by women participating in B-Fit sports centers between 2016 and 2017 were analyzed with SPSS 22.0 package program. At the end of the study; it has been found that there are significant differences in the levels of leisure time satisfaction of women, presence of active athletes, level of education, occupation types, frequency of weekly sports activities in all sub dimensions. In terms of marital status, age and income levels, there was a significant difference in some sub-dimensions, but no significant difference was observed in terms of child ownership. In the quality of life of women; there was a significant difference in terms of being athlete, age, level of education, occupation types, income levels and frequency of weekly sports activities. However, no significant difference was observed in terms of marital status and children's ownership.
