The attitude towards the working woman and gender roles(Çorum province, center villages sample)

This research deals with the attitudes and gender roles of the individenals living in the centre villages of Çorum, towards the working women. To identify if the attitudes towards the working woman changed or not in terms of the people living in rural and it is aimed to improve the offers which contribute to the development process of working woman in rural areas. The research is important from the point of seeing the working woman in work life. The questionnaire surury data forms the main material of the research. In the quastionnaire, 67 women and 67 men were interviewed face to face. According to the some demographic criterion, Khi-Kare independence test was carried out to test if there is addict or not among the knowledge, attitude and behavlour directed to working woman and to identify the addict degree. According to the result of the Khi-Kare analysis, by whom the insure policy paid, state of education, the people who decide the use of income in the family, the state of participating in the decisions in the family, the man's being householder in the house are changeable things found out meaningful. Factor analysis has been done in order to test the 13 judgement sentences, the individuals attitudes and gender roles towards the working women gathered under specific factors or not. From the factors which are measured for the men's attitudes and gender roles towards working women, the factor number whose eigenvalue is bigger than 1 is 5. The whole of these five factors express the %68.351 of the variance. Factors related with the judgement sentence testing the attitude and gender roles of working woman, factors whose eigenvalue is bigger than 1 factor number is 5. It expresses %64.583 of the total variance. In this study, the rate of women's worforce participation is less than the rate of men's participation. In rural areas, the traditional idea about the work life of woman is seen. In the some way, this case was observed with the feelings related with the social gender perspective. In rural areas, it can be said that there can be a difference in the perspective to the woman with the social change but it will continue more slowy. 2019, 114 PAGE Key Words: Çorum, woman, working, attitude, householder.
