Abstract (EN)

This study was condected to determine the effects of different Nitrojen fertilizer levels on some corn varieties and to evaluate CERES-Maize plant growing model under Kahramanmaras Conditions during 2004 and 2005 years. Hybrid corn cultivars, such as Borja, Girona and Donana were treated with 3 Nitrogen doses (15, 25 and 35 kg/da) according to split plot design with 3 replications. Significant differences were obtained among cultivars for grain yield and yield components while plant height, leaf area, leaf area index, first ear height, seed number on the ear, 1000 kernel weight, grain yield were increased depending on increasing doses of N, silking flowering time was decreased and the higher values for the parameters were obtained for 35 kg/da N applications. The CERES-Maize software estimated closer to the observed values for lower N level in contrast to the values obtained from higher N levels. The estimated values for the second year of the experiment were higher than from the years and closer to inspected values.
