Abstract (EN)
In addition to the increasing rate of waste production in our country and in the world, the issues of what we can do with these wastes are also on the agenda. The management of wastes and the collection and evaluation of wastes in each area separately and according to their types gain importance day by day. In addition, obtaining energy from these wastes will be economically beneficial. It can be estimated that coffee and tea beverages, which are the most consumed in our country, will also have more coffee grounds and tea pulp wastes after drinking. In this context, in this study, the biogas production potential of coffee grounds and tea pulp wastes was investigated. Characterization analyzes of the wastes were made and biochemical methane potentials were measured with various combinations. It has been observed that the biogas production potential of tea pulp waste is higher than that of coffee grounds. When the state of tea before brewing is compared with the state of coffee before it is cooked and drunk, it has been determined that the methane potential of the tea residue is higher than the raw tea, but the methane production potential of the coffee grounds is less than the raw coffee. More methane output was observed in the samples using the vaccine. For further studies, it is thought that pre-treatment of both wastes will increase the biogas yield. In addition, it is suggested that cellulosic and protein analyzes of tea pulp and coffee grounds will be beneficial.
